MEET THE HICKS FAMILY

You already know our Featured Homeowners for the month of September, but let’s dive a little deeper and truly get to know this family. 

Jim grew up in Hampshire and went to Hampshire High School, followed by Elgin Community College and the University of Hawaii. Deanna spent her teenage years at Barrington High School. These two met while Jim was working at a gas station, introduced by a guy they both barely even knew. 

Jim is retired after 28 years of service with the Elgin Fire Department, however, he is currently training to be a school bus drive with District 300. While Deanna spent 23 years with the Nielsen Company, she currently is expanding her horizons and on the look out for new and exciting opportunities. 

This beautiful couple has been married for 28 amazing years and will celebrate their 29th anniversary in December. With two children (Brittany and Jimmy) and two grandchildren (Aubrey and Jack), they love to spend time with their family; taking road trips and enjoying quality time with their grandchildren. 

Although their gorgeous Craftsman is their second home together, it is their first time building a new home. Wanting to upsize, they fell in love with the size, layout and look of the Craftsman floorplan, giving them plenty of space to entertain family and friends.

“When you sit down to discuss what you are looking for in a house bring all your dreams.  We all have budgets to live within but you can do prep for dreams you can’t fulfill right away.” 

“It is new construction with many hands touching your house.  You will have some issues. We have.  Stay calm and realize if given a chance any issues you have can be fixed. Stay calm and enjoy your new home”
