We also say we build in the communities we care about.  With that we try to participate in as many community events or hold our in as possible. We were approached by the Somonauk Cub Scout Pack 335, the Webelos Den, 4th and 5th graders who were working on the “Built It” elective.

Part of the requirement for this activity pin, was visiting a construction site. While at the construction site it was highly encouraged to ask questions. Allowing them to learn more about a construction career, we were more than willing to participate.

Members of the Silverthorne family took the Cub Scout Pack 335, to Lot 47 in Oak Creek, which is located in Genoa, Illinois.

This home was in the middle of construction when the pack visited. First, we were able to show to pack the exterior of the home. Which unknown to them, will gain the farmhouse style added in the coming weeks.

Secondly as we went throughout the home, the pack was very interactive with the Silverthorne team. Each one asked very insightful questions and even surprised some of the members of our team with their knowledge.

Once the home is fully complete, the entire pack plans to come back and see the finished product. We definitely look forward to having them back on site and get their opinions on this new home.
